Alumni Homecoming: Celebrating Pioneers Past and Present

Every fall, Leavenworth comes alive with Pioneer pride and the Leavenworth Education Foundation’s Alumni BBQ is at the heart of the celebration! Hosted Homecoming night, the BBQ brings together generations of graduates, staff, and community members to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate everything that makes USD 453 special.

The fun doesn’t stop at food and conversation this year, alumni were treated to a tour of the High School, and the response was unanimous: the campus has changed so much! From updated classrooms and innovative learning spaces to new technology and modernized facilities, alumni were amazed at how their alma mater has evolved while keeping its Pioneer spirit alive.

Old classmates swapped stories, new graduates stopped by to say hello, and everyone had a chance to see firsthand how the Foundation’s support through programs, grants, and enrichment opportunities continues to enhance the student experience. Donations from the BBQ go directly toward initiatives like Innovative Teacher Grants and student programs, meaning every BBQ Parfait enjoyed and every laugh shared helps “elevate students for success.”

It’s a weekend full of community spirit, school pride, and plenty of smiles. Once a Pioneer, always a Pioneer!
